Dr. M.S. Ramaiah, a visionary, educator, industrialist, and philanthropist, founded the Gokula Education Foundation (GEF) in 1962. In the same year, the M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) was established under the umbrella of this foundation. Dr. M.S. Ramaiah, a successful entrepreneur by the end of the first decade after India’s independence, recognized the significant role of education in shaping the socio-political and economic landscape of the country.

Acknowledging the limited opportunities for professional education, particularly in fields like Engineering and Medicine, Dr. M.S. Ramaiah embarked on a mission to provide high-quality education to talented and bright students. Thus, GEF and MSRIT were established, pioneering efforts in private, self-financed technical education.

Presently, GEF oversees eighteen institutions, including MSRIT, each embodying Dr. M.S. Ramaiah’s vision, ideals, and objectives. Our commitment to excellence is evident in our rankings – No. 67 among 1249 Engineering and No. 17 among 91 Architecture Institutions in India, according to MHRD, Govt. of India, 2022.
