Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, was established in 1976 as a residential University with the aim of promoting interdisciplinary higher education and research, focusing on environmental, ecological, and life sciences. It has since made significant progress and is now recognized as a leading educational institution in the country. The university functions as both a teaching and affiliating university, boasting a strong track record in academics, research, literacy, cultural activities, and sports. Currently, it houses 38 Post-Graduate Departments and 11 Faculties, with its territorial jurisdiction extending to 10 districts of Southern Haryana. The Directorate of Distance Education offers quality education through traditional UG/PG courses, as well as Information Technology and Management programs.
